DEP terminates White Deer tire burner project

WHITE DEER – The tire burner project in White Deer Township, Union County is no longer.  According to DEP spokesman Dan Spadoni, En-Tire Logistics gave a verbal notification Tuesday that they would not proceed with the White Deer Energy Project.  Thursday, DEP received the request in writing and the request for termination was granted.  DEP declined any further comment. En-Tire Logistics of Milton planned to build a tire burning facility to power the nearby National Gypsum plan.  There has been much pushback from many people who were concerned with the negative environmental impacts of a tire burner in White Deer Township.
